About the Opportunity

Due to high demand, Elexon Mining currently have an opportunity for a versatile and team-oriented Senior Software Engineer to join their team in Brisbane, QLD on a full-time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for developing the application software to support end users of cave/in-ground monitoring systems through Geographic User Interface and 3D Modelling.

Moreover you will be responsible for executing the Hive, Elexon Mining's flagship development software.

Some of your main duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Illustrating 3D representations of mine sites, including the placement of markers embedded into rock to demonstrate the different characteristics of what is being measured (movement, temperature, pressure etc.);
  • Re-architecting relevant software, making it more ostensible and in compliance with relevant guidelines, standards and end user expectations;
  • Completing a range of product development tasks using Qt and CC++; and
  • Processing tasks on time and taking part in relevant sprints.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you'll either have tertiary level qualifications in engineering, software/IT or mathematics related disciplines, or relevant product development experience, as well as relevant experience in a closely related role, working with products notwithstanding CC++ and Qt.

While not essential, any experience with IoT (The internet of things), algorithms and mathematic development will be highly regarded.

As a collaborative team-player, you'll be comfortable working in a group environment, sharing your ideas and being receptive to suggestions without being afraid to ask questions as you go.

Additionally, you will enjoy having variety in your work with the agility necessary to adapt to changing circumstances, moving from one project to another depending on internal and external needs.

Over and above qualifications and experience, you'll also have a love for all things product development, with a long-term outlook and attitude to match.
