About the Role

APNIC is the Regional Internet Registry for the Asia Pacific with more than 4,000 members from across the region. Our vision is a global, open, stable, and secure Internet that serves the entire Asia Pacific community.

The APNIC training team supports Internet growth and development in the region by providing technical training and education services. The team strives to expand the capabilities, knowledge, and understanding of Internet network operators, engineers, managers, educators, and regulators to ensure they make full and effective use of the Internet’s resources and can appropriately apply relevant technologies and techniques.

The Senior Training Co-ordinator role is responsible for:

  • Pro-actively organising APNIC’s detailed training programme;
  • Handling the administrative and logistical arrangements for both APNIC’s public training workshops, and the customised training requirements of APNIC members;
  • Responding to any other relevant training needs of the Asia Pacific Internet community at large. 

The position works closely and continuously with APNIC’s in-house trainers, training partners, members, local hosts, sponsors, and APNIC staff in planning, administering, and co-ordinating these important outreach and capacity building activities. 

About You

Ideally your background should include practical experience in the following:-

  • Relevant tertiary or professional qualifications (marketing, communications, business) and/or relevant work experience;
  • 5+ years of training event co-ordination and management, preferably in a technical sector;
  • Experience in a commercial training environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in an independent, pro-active manner;
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, particularly in English;
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships outside of Australia and across the Asia Pacific region;
  • Proven ability to work with people from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds;
  • Willingness and availability to undertake occasional overseas travel.
