About the Role
APNIC is a critical organization in the global Internet ecosystem, responsible for accurately delegating and registering IP addresses throughout the 56 economies in the fastest growing region in the world — the Asia Pacific. We are a member-based organization and our members can be any organization with a need for significant network infrastructure.
The DevOps Engineer role sits within our Infrastructure Services Unit, which forms part of APNIC’s Technical Area. The unit ensures that it provides a high level of service to its clients, which include APNIC staff, members and the broader Internet community.
Reporting to the Infrastructure Services Manager, the DevOps Engineer works in collaboration with the Infrastructure Services and Software Units to drive the automation, testing, and monitoring across all of our services.

About You
As well as being strong technically and possessing the ability to work well in a team, ideally your background will include extensive experience in the following:
- In depth Linux systems administration.
- One or more configuration management tools - Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt.
- Scripting with Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby.
- Automation of processes and manual tasks.
- Troubleshooting Linux and related network issues.
- Building effective monitoring and logging services to identify issues in production.
- VM and container technologies including VMWare, Xen, KVM, Docker, Kubernetes.
- Administering application servers, web servers, and databases - Jetty, Tomcat, Apache, Nginx, MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
- Continuous integration and delivery - Bamboo, Jenkins, Travis etc.
- Understanding of cloud services provided by AWS, GCE, Azure.
