The Systems Analyst role sits within our Web and Systems Services Unit, which forms part of APNIC’s Technical Area. The unit coordinates business system and web related projects, and provides business process management support across the organization. Their primary focus is to provide easy and efficient user experience to our system and portal users and for ensuring that online business processes are streamlined and simple, yet meet business needs.

Reporting to the Web and Systems Manager, the Systems Analyst works in collaboration with the Business Analyst and Systems Architect to coordinate the specification of systems requirements, facilitate system/platform selection and ongoing improvements. The role also monitors reported problems with existing business systems, recommends and delivers system and process improvements, and provides support and guidance to system/product owners.

As part of this role you will lead multiple systems implementation projects across the business. To effectively control the preparation, execution and closure phases of these projects, you will demonstrate your use of a project management methodology and consultative approach. Current projects include the implementation of a new CRM and HRIS, and typically these projects will have a maximum value of $250k.

About You

We are looking for confident communicator who has the ability to work proactively, with minimal supervision, and initiative. Your background and experience will include:

  • A degree in a relevant field, with 3-5years experience including:
  • Demonstrated experience in hands-on system configuration and implementation, using scripting languages, user-interface design and SQL
  • Experience with and understanding of business process modeling and tools
  • Strong ability to effectively recognize, research and analyze new technologies
  • Ability to lead IT projects using a formal project management methodology, ideally Prince2.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and to adapt to changing priorities
    • Demonstrated experience in integrating project deliverables, including new processes and practices, into an existing or new business model/culture
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to provide sound recommendations and advice
